Andrew Abramowitz is a partner in the Firm’s domestic and international securities practice. His practice focuses on investor protection issues, including litigation under federal securities law, state law governing fiduciary duties, and ERISA.

Mr. Abramowitz has had an active role as one of the co-lead counsel in In re Parmalat Securities Litigation, the largest instance of European corporate fraud. He has also actively litigated In re SCOR Holding (Switzerland) AG Litigation, a case in which the Firm, serving as co-lead counsel, represented a foreign institutional investor in a U.S. class action. The settlement recently reached in that case is intended to distribute proceeds to U.S. and European investors alike. Mr. Abramowitz has also recently been involved in litigating Ong v. Sears Roebuck and Co., a securities case brought on behalf of purchasers of bonds issued by Sears Roebuck.

Mr. Abramowitz is currently a member of the Corporate Advisory Board of the Pennsylvania Association of Public Employee Retirement Systems (PAPERS), a professional association for administrators and trustees of employee pension and retirement funds. He writes and speaks frequently on matters relating to securities litigation and corporate governance.

Mr. Abramowitz also frequently participates in the University of Pennsylvania's School of Law Mentor Program, where he serves as a mentor to international students to provide insight and guidance as to the practice of law in the U.S.

Mr. Abramowitz graduated cum laude from Franklin and Marshall College in 1993, where he earned a B.A. in Government. Mr. Abramowitz received his J.D. 1996 from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he was Assistant Editor for The Business Lawyer, published jointly with the American Bar Association. He was formerly an associate at Polovoy & Turner, LLC, in Baltimore, where he practiced commercial litigation and corporate transactional law, and was a law clerk at the Office of the Attorney General of Maryland in the Department of Business and Economic Development.

Mr. Abramowitz is admitted to practice in the State of Maryland and the United States District court for the District of Maryland. He is a member of the Maryland Bar Association.
