SRKW is spearheading a consumer protection class action in Michigan against OnStar, General Motors, Volkswagen, Honda and Subaru relating to the failure of analog OnStar equipment. This action seeks to certify a class of consumers who purchased or leased cars equipped with analog OnStar equipment (principally model years 2002 to 2005) that no longer functions, or requires a paid upgrade to function. The plaintiffs allege that the defendants knew as early as 2001 that the analog equipment they were selling in new vehicles would become obsolete by 2008, but failed to warn their customers about this defect, while at the same time touting OnStar equipment as an important safety feature. Further information can be obtained by contacting SRKW partners Jeffrey Kodroff or John Macoretta.
